ARTIST STATEMENT
I am a multi media assemblage artist and work with metal, wood and paint. My favorite places to reclaim these materials are beaches, dumps and dumpsters. Once in my Provincetown studio these items morph into my art.
While growing up I would constantly dream up projects during the week and then on weekends I would hide down in our cellar creating all these nutty things. I consider the family cellar to be my first studio.
Throughout college I worked in pewter, leather, and wood. I put myself through college being a woodworking instructor.
I have an intense passion to be creative and my work is instinctual. Whatever the medium, I get lost in a project, so much so, that when I surface, I realize I’ve lost all sense of time and that is a high.
I hope you enjoy viewing my art as much as I enjoy creating it.
